Just leave em in there it will be fine.
If you decide you need to remove solenoids you will have to swap out the 8 MDS lifters or it will only run on 4 cyls

The 6.4 apache cam will bolt right in and is much bigger and only $68 from the dealer. As new as that motor is you should not even need gaskets just a dab of sealant on the corners of the timing cover.

I recently picked up a complete 6.4 Hemi from a 2016 HD (complete thread to come later)...and I'm hoping someone can tell me if you HAVE to delete the MDS for a carb'ed application. What would occur if you just leave the lifters, and leave the solenoids installed and unplugged? Based on my understanding of how MDS works, the solenoids will remain closed and not impede the lifters from interacting with the pushrod/valves.
I plan on using this long block as it came from the factory, for at least a few seasons before I tear into it...so conflicts with bigger cams isn't a concern presently.
I'd like to do as little to it as possible, aside from what is absolutely nessesary to get it into my Coronet and down the track. With how many hits I make per season, I'd like to experiment with a low dollar OEM build. two things... 1) the 6.4 has a 58 tooth reluctor wheel . what are you going to use for spark control? 2) yes the MDS lifters can stay in there. And trust Dave when he says spend the money for the 392SRT MDS cam BEST BANG for the 68Bucks you can spend http://www.speedlogixstore.com/product-p/m-oem-392c.htm

As new as that motor is you should not even need gaskets just a dab of sealant on the corners of the timing cover. Something to consider, because I need to replace the timing cover and water pump anyway. The cover has mounts for two alternators, an unneeded EGR cooler feed/return pipe, and in this case, a serpentine belt driven PTO which I'm hoping to sell. I'm planning on switching over to another VVT cover from a 392, along with the water pump. As for the 58 tooth crank wheel...my last discussion with MSD gave me the impression that an update to their Hemi 6 will include a 58 tooth crank sensor. They have multiple options for LS platforms, so I'd HOPE they see the value in this as well. Worst case, I swap wheels.

Can’t put a 6.4 cam into a pre Eagle 5.7 (03-08). You can put a 6.1 cam in though, but need to use 6.1 pushrods and replace all 5.7 valve springs (intake and exhaust) with 6.1 exhaust valve springs.

Can that cam go in an 5.7 2006 engine ( with a little work?) A lot of work. this is a VVT cam placed in a 6.1 block, the front journal would be the 1st issue to solve than you have the extra 1/2 inch or so of length on the cam to deal with. lets not forget that the timing gear attachment is completely different. Reality is pre eagle cams are as low as $400(some high 3's) the machine work to use a $70 dollar VVT cam , will set you back as much as the pre eagle cam, if you can do the work your self, great if you have to have some one do it....not worth the money( my opinion)

As with most things Mopar that aren't yet developed, I always encourage additional people to reach out and inquire to make sure they see the demand. The more people ask, the better chance it has to happen.
