No, but trust me, you will have wished you had pulled the entire dash, much easier than laying on your back under the dash looking for all the speed nuts

It wasn't bad when I changed my dash pad, took 1/2 a day and taking your time to clean as you go.. hardest screws was the top ones by the defroster grille, but a 1/4 in extension and swivel worked wonders..glovebox,windshield pillar panels, ashtray and dash cluster gets removed..detailing and cleaning things on the way in takes the most time. Having the replacement dash also helps with the hardware locations..

Agreed, removed just dash and it wasn't so bad.
Removing seats and console helps so you can move around.

I had it out maybe 25 years ago to have the pad redone but can't remember how I did it. I took the VIN tag off before I sent it out didn't know about the rivet situation. I acquired a set of rosette rivets and want to change them. Good to know I don't have to remove the whole dash, but how about the heater box?

Agreed, Ive done it both ways and trust me. Take the entire pad and frame out in one piece is MUCH easier
