I was looking through the parts section and saw a Holley 4749-3 for sale. I have the same carb sitting on a shelf. There appears to be a wire coming off the carb. Not on the choke side. It has the vacuum pull off for the choke like I am used to seeing. Does anyone have an idea on what the wire does?

I posted a pic of the same carb off an eBay ad. See the wire at the red arrow.

I believe that is a ground for the ignition retard solenoid on the distributor. This a an early emission feature in 1971, and 72.

I have the same carb listed in eBay as well.

Mine has the wire in front?
Maybe it's just routed differently
