Hows the best way to take off the stainless molding around the windshield on a 69 barracuda without screwing up the trim? Thanks

Well no help so I'll answer my own question to hopefully help someone else out. Lisle Corporation specialty tool company makes a molding pliers #35200 that slips under the trim and squeezes the clip so the trim unhooks. Cost is around 12 bucks at the local auto parts store.

Yep. You need the tool. It looks kind of like a hook blade for carpet. It hooks and pulls the clip away from the channel in the trim. Use a rag on the glass side.

Thank you for this info. Ironically you asked for help and you end up helping out others. Funny how that works out. I did some research and found one on eBay sold by Pep Boys for $12.54 shipped.

1st pic below is of the tool.

I'm going to go see if they have those at my local Pep Boys. Never heard of this tool until I read this. I always used the typical windshield trim removal tool (see 2nd pic) and it's hit or miss with that tool.

If this new tool doesn't work for me I can take it back rather than dealing with an eBay return policy.

Thanks beer

Did you happen to try out this tool yet? If so does it work? Is it effective?

Thanks beer
