i should of paid more attention to this when i pulled the car apart.
does anyone know the placement of the different colors
used ?
i have found some conflicting information in my
quest to find out.
looking at some pics of low mile cars
i have seen sealer that was put on after paint.
i have also seen white on the trunk gutters and quarter extensions and black used inside of the trunk.

Fly

The rule of thumb should be:

Any place that you can't see (floorboard, top of trunk) are the black tar type sealer

All the seen seams (truck floor, truck opening, roof seam) are the off white / beige sealer

All of them should be painted over.

Some of the Black Tar types look like they never were painted (paint did not stick) but when you remove it you'll see to was there before paint.

Thank You Morty
that makes sense to what i've seen so far.
i was looking thru the 5600 mile bee pics
on the a12 board and there was some black sealer on the truck floor after paint.
it looks like they painted it
saw a few gaps afterwards and decided to fill in a few spots.
it was only in a few places by the extensions
not all over the place.

I would guess that this job was not given to the brightest bulbs or people with any seniority so I would think reworks would be common.
