383 4-speed car. It needs.... well... a lot.

Assuming the rails are good, drivetrain is numbers matching and all the hard-to-find parts are there (exhaust manifolds, carb, air cleaner assembly, etc), what's a fair offer on this thing?

Sorry, only took one pic.

And yes, that's a mangy cat with a huge open sore sitting on the package tray. Unfortunately there's a cat-sized hole in the windshield.

It would take some $eriou$ effort to get it like THIS...

$1,500? Maybe? I hope the rails are solid, but I think the odds are against you there. Thing might tear in half trying to pull it out of the ground.

That thing is sinking into the ground. I can't imagine it's solid at all underneath. Not for the faint of heart. Value? As in what a buyer might pay? $2000-$3000??? Got to figure the 383 is a core (and of course it's a 383) as is the tranny.

Grab the title, tags, drivetrain and a couple of strategically located pieces of sheet metal and make believe you're the Hamtramck factory! coffee

What a cryin' shame to let a way cool car like that rot down!

It will take a donor car to get that one back in fighting shape.

It has to be bought cheap. It needs a lot and the surprises just won't stop once you open it up.

I am seeing oak and pine trees with light grass. Sand ground tends to be a little more forgiving on the bottom side.

Just the side scoops and the Ramcharger hood are worth more than that!

i see at least 4k to 5k
IF
all the tags/parts/matching motor is all there.

it has a few things going for it if its complete
4 speed
matching motor
good color
side scoops
n96
if the bones are solid i could see it even above 5k
that would be the decider.

and before you call me crazy
go find another matching 4 speed 69 BEE project like it for less
i would bet you will be searching for a while.

Pretty big leap to assume the hood is good, and the air box and side scoops aren't dried out and brittle. But yes, if they are all good, clearly some big $$$ parts. I'm a "glass is half empty" kind of guy, especially when cars are 8 inches deep in the mud.

Even in my ambitious days, I would not have tried to restore a car in that condition.

I agree.

Even though the sheetmetal could be a nightmare.

But it is already worth a lot in parts alone (Ramcharger Hood, sidescoops etcetc)

You never know until you ask. I stopped & asked about my 70' Road Runner that is about the same or slightly worse condition than this 69' Bee & the dude just gave it to me. Yes, for free. He said if I wanted it get it out of there & I did.

This guy is still pretty attached to it. His parents bought it for him when he was in high school in Florida back in the 80s.

He said they paid $2700 for it when they bought it. Maybe that would be a fair offer now...

I think that's a ballpark if it can be saved.

I also found this 383 4-speed '70 RR post a few months ago, it was originally a Lemon Twist car. Same owner since 1983 and he's "gonna fix it up someday."

Sad that some folks don't seem to realize that you can't leave a car out in the weather and expect it to not rot away.

If that cat is pissing in that car.....good luck! The whole inside would have to be replaced. Cat urine is nasty stuff to get rid of. down

3-5K, depending on completness. I have a 67 Coronet that sat in a field like that for 20 yrs sunk to the floors. Pulled it out and the underneath was solid, you don’t know until you know

Reminds me of this one that was in Kentucky on Craigslist for a long time. I almost loaded my trailer for this for the color combo only. If it was a little closer I would have pulled the trigger..

Reminds me of one that was here.It sat in a field for years.Wasnt bad at all when I first saw it.Asked about it and it wasnt for sale even though they said they had no intention of doing a thing with it.It sat for at least 7 or 8 years I know of.Finally was gone a few years ago.Rocky
