Robert... have a question... did you get just an oil pressure decay or also tappeting noises ?

I'm still unsure what to do... I just checked the HilIft Jhonson 976 lifters I have in hands which never worked on my engine, and they are charged... solid as a rock!!!, but never got quiet on my engine, like never got charged. Just run around 30 minutes on my engine.
still waiting the machine guys to get some answers

I dont know the details of the specific application for this build, but...... Fwiw, about 25 years ago I was building oval track 318's and 360's(multiple track and series championships) that were running a little over 7000rpm(solid lifter cams) at the better tracks....... And those motors received no oil system modifications at all. Proper clearances and quality machining...... No oil related failures.
I used the Canton oval track pan and a std volume pump with a spring set up for about 75psi pressure at high rpm.
