Not sure how many people are aware that the winter swap meet has been moved up to Sunday December 10 ,2017 and its back at Macomb Community College. Always a great swap meet hope the word is already out about this.

Same over priced crap as every year and no one willing to deal. I need to buy a Camaro with a SBC. Lol.

You would think after hauling this stuff around for 20 years some would be willing to negotiate on pricing?

What did you think of the new/old location (Macomb Community College) compared to Gibraltar? Anyone find any good deals?

We picked up a few things but yea lots of guys weren't willing to deal. Also the turn out seemed less than in January, you could actually walk around and see things, wasn't like being in line @ Disney.

I never cared for the swap being at Gibralter and always hoped they would put it back at MCCC. I also like the date change as well. Didn't get much but I did get a 67 440 HP Carter carb that I have been looking for for $40.

Both vendors and attendance seemed to be down. I'm guessing many people weren't aware of the date change. I prefer the current location to Gibralter ... didn't like the fact you had to pay twice at Gibralter - the gate and the door !!

I've never been there but I would think having it before Christmas/Holidays would affect the willingness to "deal". Fewer buyers with money they don't need for the Holidays or sellers that need cash to recover from the Holiday spending. Plus if you have it after the tax return period some buyers and sellers may have a little cash so they buy and deal.........and then again maybe NOT frown laugh2 Still would like to go to this event some time.....but not before the holidays, money is always tight but I guess not for the sellers with them not dealing shruggy shruggy

I went, no complaints. I think the venue is better, lots of room, isles are spaced out nicely. The new venue has way better lighting. Too me is seemed like just about the same vendor turnout. There was some neat stuff at the show. I always seem to see something that I never seen before. One guy had copies of the original Chrysler drafts of different assemblies for 1968 and 1969 B-bodies. They were dated 1966 and 1967. I didn't grab a pic. There was at least three A12 Six Pack setups. One guy had quite a few parts for 1970 Road Runners. This intake was sitting on a table. I didn't get the story behind it but I am sure that would have been interesting. I was introduced to the guy who designed the 1978-79 Magnum grille.

All and all a good day out.

Dave

As a vendor, the only issues are there are no carts to help bring in your stuff & you have to take extra precautions because of the rubber floor. I like the venue fine but the date change SUCKS! I feel it was much better being after the holidays. Its difficult for people to sacrifice an entire weekend (Sat. set up, Sun show) so close to the holidays & as previously mentioned, disposable income is greatly reduced this time of year, the old date gave people time to recover from the holidays as well as not be concerned about spending money on themselves that could possibly end up making yourself short to buy gifts. That being said, its still one of my favorite shows, I usually buy plenty & sell a little to help offset it.
