Circle track 904. I will need a good one off the shelf or possibly a custom built exact for my app. I had heard that Frank Lupo back east (Dynamic transmissions iirc) was good but that was many years ago. Any recommendations? thank you for your time.

Is this for IMCA Hobbystock? Yes, our money is right (finally) so I'm thinking we want an edge that the chebbies wont have. (& that item cant be claimed). I'm looking forward to seeing you out there.

I bought a 9.5" 4K stall converter from Dynamic as well. They were good to talk too, although the phone calls we had always seemed rushed for some reason...LOL. Anyways, the converter does what I was promised on the phone it would do, so no complaints.
As to how good of a converter it is? Well, I really do not know my drivetrain stuff well enough to answer that...so no idea regarding the efficiency (% slippage), etc, etc...

No more PTC for me. I have bought several converters from PTC over the years and they have always worked good. But this last converter has been a royal pain. First, the flash was way high and the snout did not fit in the crank until I worked it over. Called them, sent it back, got it back, but it is still too high. When I called Kenny again, he said it will be hard to get the flash any lower on that size converter. The size they chose with dyno sheets, etc. He acted rushed and said to send it back and he would try to lower it some more. And did I mention the engine shakes around 2,000 now? I suspect it is the converter. Anyway, I called Lenny @ Ultimate. Although I have never spent a dime with him, he took more time and asked more questions than Kenny ever has. I am pulling the engine and tranny now and will send the converter to Ultimate to see if anything can be done with it or if I have to start all over again. Maybe PTC doesn't have time for us small fish anymore.
Master, again and still

Robert..Lenny tore down my conv so he could change the stall and clean it out after getting trash in it.. its fine now and he did a nice job stalls lower and works great in my street rod.. stalls at 4500.. give him a call and see what he can do for ya..yours will be different being a circle tracker but its worth a call EDIT I have run a few conv 2--Turbo Action 1-- Coan 1-- Transmission Specialties and the Ultimate thats in it now Ultimate and TA have been the best

I had a bad experience w/ PTC also.
I'd use Ultimate if I was to stray away from my local guy.

Hmm, surprised to see all of the bad feed back about PTC. I have used & ran them all. Only bad luck I ever had was a 8" TCI got trashed one time on the street. I am on my 4th PTC now.(4 different cars). One has been in my Charger for 10 years or so 10" 3800. Current new convertor is in my Challenger to be tested this summer. It almost always seems like they all have to tighten them or loosen them 500 +/- RPM or so at least once these days???

Had great luck with PTC.
Had a nightmare with Dynamic in Connecticut...they cost me a full season of racing and $600 . Yes there is two Dynamic s as Luppo's Dynamic that I use is in Newark Del I believe. I like them alot. Also Turbo Action has always been a top notch converter. Ron

No fan of dynamic. Don't think chance builds mopar. Is that the Connecticut Dynamic or Lupo Dynamic? To clarify, who is "chance"?

One of the best units I ever put in a Mopar was a Lupo Some of the worst I have ever had were Lupo
PTC hit or miss
Turbo Action finest quality work always seem too tight and way too $$ on simple fresh up etc ( but...I would sleep with an original J under my pillow if I could find a new one) When we all had stock 440 stuff with a 590 or 650 solid these were the Dream Mopar units and always will be IMO for a footbrake car
I have been very happy with Cameron at Torque Converter Services in Columbia SC Cheap to get one opened and worked--FAST as can be turn around--as much skill and know how as any shop--well equipped shop and he really listens did I say VERY reasonable $$$

No fan of dynamic. Don't think chance builds mopar. who is "chance"? Neal Chance, he makes some real good take apart high end converters as well as regular race converters for high HP applications.
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
