Just picked up a few GM parts.

80vette engine 80k miles. Running when pulled for an upgrade.

LT1 engine. Aluminum heads. Low miles super clean inside.

A pair of alum LT1 heads and two intakes.

Wiw?

Hope you have the documentation to prove its a Corvette motor. These days it seems all SBC engines that are for sale are "Corvette" engines.

Is any documented brand motor from 1980 worth much?

1980+chevy= not much

Not sure if you ar speaking LT-1 or LT1. 1970-1972 LT-1 did not come with aluminum heads. 1992-1997 LT1 did. The later engine does not have any significant value, especially with the great success the LS series engines have been. Anyone looking to do a motor swap to a "late model" Chevy motor just goes for an LS.

If what you aquired is an LT-1, then you need to determine if it is a 1970-71 or a 1972. The 1972 was hyd lifters. Regardless of year, they would have a decent value with the Vette resto crowd. If it is an LT-1, then maybe the heads are over the counter GM performance pieces. Maybe a good pair would be worth $500-750 if truly good used.

The LT-1 came with an aluminum intake. Good examples can pull $350.

The 1980 Corvette motor is worth nothing more than what a regular good running SBC would garner in your local market. They had little improvement over a 350 in a Caprice.

Would a vette engine have four bolt mains?

And this would the the later LT1 engines. Not the 1970's version

I would think that the aluminum heads would have a $200 value or so ???

The motor with alum heads is a Vortec series motor- not a Gen II LT1. They were never used in Corvettes. Vortec 5.7 engines are a decent platform and the heads are a decent piece for a build on the cheap. I'd say they would be worth $200, but who knows.

Does look very clean for certain.

Check the suffix codes on the other motor. ZBC or ZBD is L-82. ZAK or ZAM is L-48.

The block is a vortech block but the heads are not vortech style heads. Check the casting on the heads they may hold some value. Vortech heads do only have four intake bolts on each head.

Chev used the four bolt main 350 block in tens of thousands of cars and trucks, late 60s to late 70s., maybe longer in the trucks.
The key to the early LT-1 is the pistons, cam, intake, carb and 186 heads.

Better than that, back in the mid 70's I was looking at buying a C2 vette ( 63-67) ALL of the "big block" cars ( the hoods are different) I looked at had blown up and had small blocks in them...

Kinda chuckle when I see all of the "Original " BB engine vettes being sold...

i have seen the big block vette situation first hand. new block, re-stamped with the "correct" numbers [using a correct date coded block of course], and bingo ! A-OK. and when sold, new owner was told about the block swap, and the first question asked was, "i hope you re-stamped the block ?" this was a 65 convertible 4spd by the way.
