15 more runs Saturday. All on the throttle stop for 10.90 practice. Managed to win Super Pro and Super Street.

The valve covers haven't been off since May of 2016.

I'll give them a look this winter as I'm planning to freshen the engine.

Well this season is officially in the books after yesterday. 194 runs on the year.

Also ran a new best yesterday, Incrementals

1.37
6.17@111.08 mph
9.743@136.90 mph

Only change from my normal bracket set up was tossing on a set of 325/50/15 drag radials. 2 inches less height and radial construction was worth quite a bit. The car still wants more gear, it likes shifting around 7300 but is only going through the traps around 6900.

This post is deserving of a "new best thread"

On the class racer forums, they say that you want to hit peak hp at the 1000 ft mark. So if your peak is 7300 than you want to hit that at 1000ft and than pray you dont break a valve or spring the last 320 60ft

There is a new best thread in race only, I'm keeping my updates here so everything is tracked in one location for people to follow along and to easily look back on the progress from 10.20's to 9.70's

I think 4.56's would be ideal for this engine, with a trap rpm of 7600+ that would take advantage of the acceleration early like the class cars do. However, with as many runs as I make I don't like the idea of leaning on it that hard. Someone else can have that honor and the glory.

Would be fun to put this engine in a lighter car. In bench racers theory, a <2800# car, 904 trans and more rear gear should be capable of high 8's

I hope I will be doing that very thing next year, but with a 2500# car 727 trans and 430 gears.

I'm thinking out loud here and your car is impressive!
Could it be that your heads are too big?
Wonder if less flow top end , which most of the time = more mid range , would work better?
I was always under the impression that there are two ways to feed a port.
RPM or CID.
Once again impressive car!
Matt

I am close to pulling the trigger on one of these. My Cuda weighed 3250 with an iron block Hemi and alum heads. Never got to weigh it qith the all alum 605 in it, but it felt lighter than anything else I have run in it...Figure one of these would put to 3100 or so....That little engine would run pretty good in my junker at that weight.

What compression is yours?

I have already posted on moparts my step by step port on apache heads and what to expect on flow. I do not make them big.

The stock port size is bigger than Chip's ports on his 572 hemi

Dustin when you first put this deal in the car, it fit under the Hemi scoop, right?

If I recall that correctly, what was the intake that you used??

Thanks!
