Hello!

I was wondering if it will be possible to clearance the bottom of the bores for a 4.375" crank with Mopar rod journal size and stock HEMI rods?

Plan on an external oil line. I am just worried about the clearacing on the bottom of the cylinder bores with the std size mopar journal and reconditioned stock HEMI rods.

BTW I am gonna be using a 4.25" bore siamese HEMI block. (the ones that have the dont bore over 4.34" warning decal on them).

Should not be any problem at all. I have the same stroke with fat Nascar rods

Great.

Did you have to clearance the block any more than what they come with? What block are you using?

Because the one I have already came clearanced some....

Oh well if it doesnt ill just grind away some....I was just fearing it might be too much I dont wanna ruin the block, thats why I asking of somebody is running such a setup-----

I think I used the same size stroker crank(4.375) in one of those early Mopar Mega Hemi blocks with a set of Eagle 6.86 long SS rods and didn't have to grind very much off of the cam side of the cylinder walls and less on the oil pan side of the cylinder walls work I did have to grind the oil pickup boss down some also sawzall
Good luck on your deal thumbs wrench grin

I did have to do more clearancing on the megablock that what it came with from the factory.....but the older siamese MP megablock I used had plenty of meat there, and when i slid my finger inside the water jackets, I could feel how the tooling the used to cast this block considered this area an area where engine builders WILL have to grind on to clear strocker crank/rod combos. The water jacket has a BIG lump or iron there as opposed to a factory hemi block.

So 4.375" crank and 6,96" stock rods with BIG older ARP hex nuts were not a problem after some serious grinding and that area on the bottom of the bores still remained super thick thanks to the extra meat on these MEGABLOCK castings!

THanks for the update, that's good info.

BTW, the blocks with that sticker that says don't bore over 4.34, often can be bored to 4.5". YOu need to sonic test, and you might have to move a cylinder or 2 over toward the thick side to maintain sufficient wall thickness.

Are the rods stock Mopar size or BB Chevy size?
