It looks like a pretty solid car, but it is only a 318 ,column shift notchback, one of about 6,270 built . so somewhere around $ 3,500 I would guess. The guy selling it doesn't even know if it is a 68 or 69 so he isn't qualified to price the car .

Looks solid, $9K asking price is not out of line for a rust free '69 Barracuda.

He is asking 900000 dollars unless he left out a period 2 in from the right hand end .

When someone puts "serious collectors only" in an ad on Craigslist - does that deter anyone from pestering him?

Those are such ugly cars. $9.00 might be ok, but nothing above that. For $10, I can buy a good burger at Red Robin and get free fry refills. Much better value.

I love early barracudas , but I cant get interested in notchbacks . A notchback non 340 car isnt big money to me.

Love the feeble attempt at using 'upper crust' language.

"For all intense purposes" whatever that means.

Anyone listing on craigslist with a 'testing the waters' statement pretty much confirms they're an idiot or not at all serious about selling.

I think he typed in the $900K figure just as an attention grabber. Sounds like they're looking for offers, but not from anyone with a short bankroll. Guess I'm out of contention for that deal.

The guy is a joke. Several members tried to conTact him with a very disappointing response. Told everyone to just move on as this guy is no car guy.

Yes.
Intense purposes?

For all intensive purposes.

For the guys in the cheap seats... it is supposed to be:

For all INTENTS and purposes.

What happened to people? How did this great language get so butchered to the point where mistakes like this happen so often ??

I do a dead on impersonation of Patrick Star from spongbob squarepants

Every time i see someone put " serious inquiries only" in an ad I am attempted to call them up and say this :

"Is this Pizza Castle? Yeah hey Mario I'll have a large double olive double .........Spongbob? You're working at Pizza Castle now?"

Haha its that mega dollar Berkeley education, and we all know what that gets you.

Anyways, I sent him an email. A long winded email about how spectacular I am and how I am a serious collector with unlimited funds. I offered him $2500 hahahahahaha.

He could probably get a bit more. Nice drivers have gotten pretty scarce. Maybe a "serious collector" wouldn't be interested in this car, but plenty of others would be. Depending on actual condition, $5000 to $6000 wouldn't be out of line--maybe more, some places. twocents

That was me putting an offer in for a friend. He then replied back saying he had an offer of $9k and I would have to offer more. A mysterious offer from a a craig’s List viewer? He’s gonna be waiting along time for that check to show! smile

Usually when I see "serious collectors only" it means "serious-ly overpriced junk for sale"
