Big shot N20 plate. 76N,67F. Tight converter and mild gear. Let it eat, and short shift it. It'll be fun, I guarantee it.

Why are you wanting to bleed off compression? As far as non Hi Po good brand of lifters I wouldn't mess with band aids when it comes to them Are you racing this motor or trying to street drive it on other than 108 octane race gas ? As far as this cam in that motor it is way to small to help you in anyway I can think of I'm thinking more like 250 @.050 at least with as much lobe lift you can buy and ground on a 105 to 107 LSA installed form 103 to 105 intake lobe centers

By deciding to toss together a "what parts can I toss together I have on hand" id be far ahead, better and cheaper then what im doing now if id just of bought some good modern flat tops. Im way above deck and tight on piston to valve. Not trying to spin heavy old pistons to the moon.
I "thought" this cam with the late closing intake valve and my altitude might do better then alot of the other low lift cams ive got on hand, of course older DC cams and many off the shelf comps.
Also, im trying to stick to a single heavy spring with damp coil so I dont have to do anymore to the heads money wise (spring seats, seals).
Ok I tossed the one I thought might work, didnt look at the @50 on the intake.
SO, I think I will try this one since I have it.
Just trying to have a snappy 1/8 beater motor.
I never drive anything much, maybe 400 miles a year, five cars combined.

Try moving the intake lobe opening around once you install it and have enough piston to valve clearances, every SB I've raced or help on love having the intake valve opening advance I would shoot for 104 to 106 ILC, if it will fit That cam should rock

If you drive that few miles, why not use race gas?
