I will hopefully be fitting exhaust cutouts soon, problem is the gap for fitment on the driver's side pipe is going to be slightly different to the passenger side pipe due to the way the exhaust system has been fitted in the past, so is it going to be an issue at all if the cutouts are not symmetrical in terms of location ? They will both obviously be in front of the exhaust boxes, thanks for any help.

The ones on my 65 are different.Has been like that for years.Dosent seem to make any difference. They are pretty clost to being the same distance in the pipe though.Rocky

Symmetry is not critical with cut-outs. They are basically a pressure relief device. Locate them where convenient while staying as close to the collectors as possible.

you are only going to view it from 1 side of the car at a time anyway..so close enough is good, just the floor clearance is important.

Mount them as tucked up into the floor board as practical. I have experimented with adding a short length of exhaust pipe after the cutout to direct the exit where I want it.

I also found that adding an oval shaped megaphone to the exit tip greatly sweetens the sound, much like the end of horned instruments.

Old motor 500" 12.2 to 1 w full 3" TTI system & QTP cutouts with oval megaphone. The video doesn't capture the sound well, but you get the idea. It's a crowd please for sure.
