I re-did the front anti-sway bar in this last rebuild of the Coronet. It used to be be metal on metal in all of the joints but it was really too harsh to drive on the street so I put some rubber bushings in the lower mount. The top mount is still steel on steel with no easy way to fix it.

The strut rod mount is a simple concept but difficult to actually make. I like it since it doesn't take up much space but to make it work the strut rods need to be precisely machined so the rod end can smoothly slide on the rod without a bunch of slop. Stock bars don't work so I had to have custom strut rods made. I used chrome moly bar stock and had it heat treated so it is nice and tough.

The anti-sway bar is custom made from tube material. So it is big, but not very heavy. I also had it made from chrome moly and then had it heat treated so it is a spring.

Whats the benefit of attaching to the arm strut and not the control arm?

The factory thought it was a good idea for years as well.

Better motion ratio as well since it is mounted further out on the arm.

We look at the arm as a strut but once it's all bolted together, it is effectively an A arm.
