Looks pretty clean although I couldn't imagine who would want to drive a 2.2 tbi automatic these days.

I have a white one laying around, pretty well rust-free for Illinoisy... penguin

In a recent issue of Hemmings, they featured a guy that actually restored and collected Horizons and Omnis. God bless 'em!

I had a twin to this car! Rusted away. for a grand you cant go wrong. Throw a map sensor at it and drive it. You will prob get 35+ mpg also

I had a twin to this one, also had a gold '85 Horizon, great cars!

Kids called the Omni "The Refrigerator" because the A/C would literally frost the vents. It got great MPG, was dead-reliable and never let me down. A woman pulled in front of it and totaled it, or it would probably still be going!

Somebody was cruising an early two-tone gray and silver one at Heath after the Mopar Nats this year, I tried to catch up to it but lost it. Anyone here own it? shruggy

Same comment as the '76 Volare that was on here:

You'd have to be sick in the head to be seen in something like that.

Hey I would rather be driving that Horizon around than a Topaz, or a lousy
Escort anyday. I had a couple of these back in the day, and they were reliable and got great mileage. Chrysler built roughly 2.5 MILLION, over an eleven year time frame...alot of people apparantly liked 'em! If I had more room I would want this one myself for a spare DD.

I drove a Merkur ( NOT easy to work on and parts were spendy)XR4Ti/5 speed for like 12 years.. I paid $130 for it with an overheated engine, rebuilt it and had a lot of fun in it for really cheap... I think it cost me under $200 a YEAR for that car ( not including gas ) and I sold it in kinda bad shape for $750...

It even got me a multi car discount on my insurance which made my insurance cheaper that just my pickup alone.. What a deal that was...

Yes this car is ugly, but it might be some dependable CHEAP transportation...

Not sure what the issue would be with that drivetrain. I daily an 86 Aries wagon with the same setup.
