Seems like they’ve been in demand lately. I’m not sure what they’re selling.

Without seeing it, I'd say $400 +/-100 depending on condition and several other factors.
Is the casting clean, or have some pitting? Can you make out the date code stamped in the left side of the casting? There's 2 rows of info stamped in the side. First row is 9175, that's not the date code. Row below is date code. If the number starts with 9 or 0, that's desirable.
Does the cap have writing? If it's something about J1703 brake fluid that's desirable.
1970 E body only, always seems to be a lot of people looking for them.

Just sold 'the whole package', booster, original lid, nice master cylinder, all mounting stuff, needing restored, but good overall condition for $1k. Could have probably got more, but I was OK with the offer.

As stated earlier, depends on several factors. How about some pics?

Date code is 4 digits. For example, I have one that I got off my November '69 SBD Challenger vert, which I suspect is the cars original MC. Its date code is "9 261" which would be the 261th day of 1969. September 18th, 2 months before my cars build.
The 9 is sort of faint on my casting. Yours would be the 349th day of the year, need to find the digit for the year.

My NOS ones are both built on 052 of 1975 if I read it correctly. I bought them in the early eighties when mopar was closing out some things for cheap. So I guess they are not worth much to a numbers guy. I bought three and installed one on my AAR. I still have a couple of old cores that look to have good dates. I think I remember someone saying that they don’t build the proper parts for the inside of these 70 only masters anymore is that correct? Who would be a good place to send off a core and get good work done with the assurance you would get your same part back?

This was true for a time, now I think Brake Warehouse in Minneapolis can provide the correct kit as they had them made up if I remember right

I made up some engineering drawings of the '9171 pistons some years back and gave them to Brake and Equipment Warehouse so they can make up pistons for rebuilding them.
They can sleeve them and do the full rebuild of these, they restore the part you send them, not exchange.
Also, if you have one with its pistons in good shape, there is a aftermarket rebuild kit available for '67-'70 A body disc master cylinders that you can use the seals from to rebuild the pistons on a '9171. Just don't use the pistons from that kit, as they are a bit too short!
I have a couple NOS kits squirraled away in hopes I stumble across a nice '9171 casting someday missing its guts. luck
I also have some piston assemblies for '9191 hemi master cylinders that I had made at our plant when I worked for Raybestos if anyone is trying to restore one of those, or has a casting lying around they want to get rid of.
