Hello.
I recently purchased a 1968 Super Bee with the wrong stuff in it. I am taking it back to original. Today while taking it apart I found the build sheet, and matching numbers engine and trans for a 1969 Super Bee. I also have the ramcharger hood for the car. If this is your car contact me to collect the goods.
I assume the car was totaled or stripped down, but thought it was worth a shot.
Thanks!
Mike

So you are saying the 68 Superbee you bought has the build sheet in the car and also installed in that car is the matching numbers motor and tranny to that build sheet? I'm thinking you bought a 69 Superbee with a 68 vin tag on it now and made to look like a 68. It is to weird the build sheet and motor and tranny are in this car. stirthepot

The only other explanation is motor and tranny and seats were removed from a 69 and installed into the 68 car. twocents

The body numbers on the car in question are correct for a 1968, and they DO match the fender tag for the car. Someone used a 69 bee to replace a lot of parts on the 68 bee. The original engine and auto trans were replaced along with the K frame, the 383, the 4 speed. The Ramcharger hood replaced the 68 bee hood. Most likely the rear seat was also used out of the 69 bee that all the other parts had been sourced from so that would explain the 69 buildsheet being in it.

I too applaud your efforts and hope they are fruitful.

Unfortunately, the parts usage tend to point to a junked '69.
You never know though...

Stranger things have happened but...
It makes much more sense to me, to replace seats and a motor/trans
and other bolt on parts from a parts car, than to replace the hood, front fenders, grill, core support sheet metal, rear 1/4 panels/side marker lite openings, tail panel & tail lites, for a fraudulent cause.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

Thanks for the info guys! Yes, for some reason the guy wanted a 69 vs. 68. Not sure if he got in an accident, destroyed the Hemi and couldn't afford to replace it...etc???
I assume the other car is toast. Just figured I would try, as I hope someone else would do the same for me.

Yes it is. It is going to be a bit of a challenging project, but hopefully a fun car. I got it out of Pennsylvania. Hoping to track down the original engine someday, but I realize this is most improbable.

I do not have any record of this car. The assumption the 69 is long gone is mostly likely correct.

Can you post the EAD and casting dates from the block for us numbers junkies? Thank you.

I would be happy to. May take me a bit to get back to it. Took it out at my friends place.
