before i got the dart i had a 76 aspen r/t with a 340, 904 w/low first gear, 4.30s gears w/ a 28in tall mickey and was runnin 12 teens at 110 while driving it on the street. i think you'll be ok w/ 4.30s, you'll see improvment. it was a 9 1/2 3800 stall 60'in low 1.60s

i'm running 28 inch tires and i go through the trap at around 6500 rpm in sec gear. i'm basically shifting into 3rd as i cross

Again thats what I did with my street charger but a 3.23 with 26" .. 6500 through traps at a100 in second. That was 13.9-8 . I went to a 4.56 gear (same tires) and a few other things (intake, ditched fan) and went 13.1 at 105 now at 6500 in third..
Know anyone that you could borrow a set of 4.56s off of?

She'll be maxed out.. is the engine balanced?
Or if you could get a cheap set of 29's too
I saw a 742 case 4.56 sure grip in the for sale race section...375$...in the northeast

It's just to heavy of a car and not enough HP/TQ.
4.10's might get you in the 12's but say good bye
to any highway driving. I would put in a stroker
kit in that 383 (say 496) and let TQ pull you in the 12's.
Then you could run 3.23's and have a good high
way driver.

Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

What carb are you running??
4.10 gears should pick you up 3 or more tenths.
What is your 1/8 mile MPH
two things jump out 60' is poor gear and maybe a TQ will help that a lot. but your 1/4 mph is low for 13.3?? I would think 104 or so would be more in line.
running out of fuel? But maybe a bad torque curve where you are forced to shift into third??

That is a lot of carb for a 383.I bet a 750 would pick it up a tenth or more.

I would leave the front jet 79 and use a 87 set in the rear ! try that.
