Star is probably the best for the money, Moroso here...

Star or Moroso.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Star is top shelf, but you don't have to buy anything but the pump if you like. All the other stuff can come from anyone. Star has the vacuum regulator built in, and moroso's is at additional cost, so add that in your comparison.

I've had an Aerospace pump and it was crap.
I now have a 4 vane Moroso and like it a lot. MUCH better than the Aerospace.
Star is supposedly top shelf, but pricy. I've heard nothing but good things about the GZ pumps.

I have the big GZ pump on my 505 C.I. low deck bracket motor, it barely pulls 5 inches revved up in nuetral work down
I have bought but not tried a Moroso three and another four vane pump, hopefully one of them will pull more luck
All three where used so maybe I need to return the GZ to them to check it out, I called them and they say it should pull more shruggy

I just did some dyno testing with the new Star pump. Very nice pump and great guy to talk to on the phone. He really knows his stuff. I also highly recommend getting the Star intake/exhaust tank. It is a puke tank and an air/oil separator tank all in one.

One of the drag week small block nitrous guys put 20,000 miles on a Morosso pump on a 1000HP nitrous small block before he felt it needed rebuilt. That is the route I will go when I get ready to go to a vacuum pump.

Moroso's are great quality pump. Mine has been flawless and I think MoparRich gave it to me pretty cheap a LONG time ago...

I have the newer Moroso 4 vane on my Hemi it didn't pull as much or make as much power as we were expecting but it still does the job & is about half the price of a Star pump. I should have gone with a Star.

I have a Moroso four vain now and it works very well.

However I have had a GZ in the past and like everyone has said, very good customer service.

I run an old 3 vain moroso with a 5 stage moroso dry sump pump, the combo together pulls 19-20" of vacuum.. just picked up a product engineering vacuum pump with all the drive pulleys for the pump and mandrel... dose anyone have any experience with the PE. pump?
