I have to run a remote filter with my block right now I have it mounted up inside the right fender at the top of the firewall.
The problem is when it sits for a day or 2 the oil runs back in the motor and it takes a lot to prime it again and I am running a Wix filter with a anti drainback valve.
The only other thing I can think of is lower the filter down even with the lines coming out of the block but this will put the filter on the firewall almost to the bottom right behind the front tire I dont really see a problem but though I would ask.

I can't remember but, somebody makes an in-line check valve for AN-12? line.
I used to use them on the Milodon/Barton dual-line BB systems. Maybe one of
the big block guys will know.

Busy......Started school a couple weeks ago.
Working on a few projects besides my own. I
found the check-valves but, they come in -12
or -16.

have you tried looping the lines down lower where they come out of the block, before going up to the filter?

Is the filter mounted upside down? On my Duster drag car, I use a 2-quart (GM truck) filter, which "hangs" from a Moroso bracket. I mounted it behind the R/F tire inside the fender on the side cowl panel. No drainback problem, as the -10 hoses are above the filter. It's low enough that I can just get my hand in there, but the adapter/bracket is higher in the car than the fittings in the block by several inches.

Dram I could make a new line and try that I guess and no Topside the filter is not upside down its mounted about in the same place as it sounds like you have yours.
It just seems to take to long to get oil pressure spinning it with the starter have not tried to start the motor yet.Maybe I should and see how quick I get pressure.I could be worrying about nothing
