For many years I used a setup that had 2 fans within a shroud as pusher fans.Last week at a track rental one of the plastic fans centrifugally exploded.Thankfully it did not take out the new aluminum radiator.I had swiss cheesed the plastic shroud to allow add'l air flow at speed.
Now I can't seem to find a pair of fans that will fit within the radiator core and flow a decent amount of air.I'm not sure if a single 16 inch fan will cool enough by itself shruggy
Engine is a 545 ci 9:1 blown hemi.90% of the time is 4lbs of boost with an effective CR of 11.5:1.When more boost will be applied it can go to 20:1.How much CFM of airflow will keep me cool. All my street driving is done at 4lbs of boost.

I will be calling the fan companies on Monday, but I am looking for real world guys that have done something similar.

My first call would be to whoever built the radiator. Most of the time they make shroud/fan assemblies just for their units. I've gone that route a few times with good results.
That looks like an OEM assembly from some kind of full size truck or sedan. Second option would be find out what and just get a replacement fan. If none of that works, it's just a matter of searching what the fan companies offer.

The holes in the shroud will hurt cooling performance unless you're moving fast enough that you don't need the fans.

Pushers don't work nearly as well as pullers.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

SPAL fans are the only way to go if you are going to use electric fans that aren't some OEM adaptation. Top quality product with a huge selection of sizes to fit all your needs. There is a reason they build the OEM stuff for all the exotics.

I run an HHR fan on my 26" radiator. I use it as a pusher - just reverse the polarity on the hook up

Note that the HHR blades are "scooped" and don't move nearly as much air turning backwards. I was really surprised at how little air came through the core in pusher mode.

I ended up squeezing a dual Contour fan into the Dart between my 26" rad and the water pump nose of my 451.

I talked to several people about Spal or Derale when i bought my new fan( which by the way cured my problems immediately) at Lane Automotive.
After several of them being invited to a seminar/ meeting at Derale, they came away ultra impressed.
I was deciding between the two on fans that had near identical specs. Went with Derale and couldnt be happier.

I have twin Spal fans on mine, can be reversed for puller or pusher, work well in pusher mode with no issues. Temp will drop when idleing in pit after a run. Don't know the part # though.

I ran an HHR for a while. It worked OK. I recently changed it to one from a Ford Contour. Two fans that cover the entire radiator core. Works way better than the HHR fan I had on it.

Look up Delta Pag for some ultra sweet brushless fans, I do not know if they can push though.

What you have looks like it came OEM on something but the trick is figuring out what. Does it have any numbers anywhere on it?

If you have issues with it running warm at low speeds, I would not drill the holes in the shroud in the next set of fans you install. With those holes the air will just get circulated forward, out through the grille, instead of being forced through the radiator.
