A kid I know is looking for a rear for his B-Body, do only 71-74 rears fit?

73-4 b is a direct fit
71-2 has different center pin hole size on the perch and other parts have to be changed to make work.

oh I forgot one another option

the hot set up is to get a e body rear
and use the relocation hanger set up from doctor diff
so you have better clearance for wider tires.
I just don't know if the center pin hole issue is the same or not
as I have not done it myself.

Interesting. I guess I need to find out if the rear housing I have is from a B or E.

Should be able to work around the center pin size if you use mating shock mount plates.

I have a 68 Chrysler 300 housing and axles that should be really close.

New center pins are cheap.

The hole in the '73-'74 perch is larger...needs a bushing or custom made center bolt to fit properly on the earlier springs.

I took a 71 B road runner rear end and stuck it right into my 73 using the 71 parts no issue at all

ideally you want to get rid of the rubber isolators around the springs on the 73+ b bodies and go with the more ridged 71-72 design. ebody axles will fit with 71-72 springs and spring relocation kit.

I believe all C body 8 3/4 will fit under a 71-73 B body as well. I think they are the same width. Gene
