The glass in my 1969 Barracuda convertible inside rearview mirror is cloudy. Looking for a new one, it appears you can only buy a complete mirror assembly, and the convertible model is somehow different than a hardtop model. No one seems to offer a convertible model. Does anyone offer a new convertible style, or alternately, can I buy a hardtop style and remove the mirror part from the stem and put it on mine? It is in good shape.

If the rest of the mirror is OK, just the mirror glass can be replaced....check with a local auto glass shop.

If someone locally or a yard has a common hardtop model that you could checkout to see if its glass will fit. A glass shop might handle it but a custom cut would likely be pricey. Tell em to treat it like it is a priceless artifact (no scratches) but that for sure wont make your final bill likely be any cheaper!.

I had a local glass shop cut me a replacement mirror for my 1972 Chrysler New Yorker. They charged me $7.00 dollars total. I removed the glass so they could use it for a pattern. The original mirror (which I saved) is day/ night glass. The replacement mirror doesn't have that function. I would need to send the original glass out for re-silvering.

I don't have anything to compare it to. I will check out the glass shop option.

Looks like the best option to me and was not addressed.
Simple Allen head screw is it not?
I would think that it will bolt (screw) right on your post.
