Can anyone explain to me why when I post a picture sometimes it turns the photo 90 degrees and other times it does not?

Oddly enough I've also noticed that my phone manages to view the images on the thread correctly.

Hers an example, not the first set of pics but the bottom.

Thanks for the help

Because the board does not adjust the pictures

If the picture shows sideways then it was taken that way and never turned and re-saved in a real photo program.

In windows you can turn the display of a photo BUT it does not save it to the photo file. Just in the windows display options

Appreciate the attempt but I'm still struggling.
I'll upload screen shots from;
The thread I mention (posted sideways)
From Apple "Preview"
From Apple "Photos"
From Apple "iPhoto"
All programs open this image in it proper orientation with the exception of the uploaded image within the thread.

That has crossed my mind, but don’t recall ever having issues in the past.

I've seen this issue on other websites and it is always a phone image and it also seems from an iPhone. Maybe wrong on the phone brand but for sure always an image posted from a mobile phone.

OK, so this got me poking around the internet rather than thinking it may be a web page issue and heres what I found (Below image). I did this and while it appears to do nothing, it does in fact work. I suspect as suggested, it resets some internal clocking tied to the photo
