I have a wild Maypop vine at my factory and I went out looking for some fruits to pick today (they are delicious) and these scary-looking beasts have pretty much defoliated the vine completely. They aren't on anything else but that vine. What kind of caterpillars are they?

Is there any way I can get rid of 'em?

Thanks for the info!

Good God! I looked at the pic first, then the next thing I saw was "they are delicious".

Glad to read the rest.

I did a little research and found out what they are. They are called "Gulf Fritillary caterpillar and those scary-looking spikes are actually soft. They turn into a bright-orange butterfly.

Funny thing is that the vine that they are on is the only thing they eat.

Correct! Pretty butterflies. graulis vanillae, the underside spots look white but are actually reflective silver.
