I've come across a stash of Mopar parts. Including 4-5 sets of 906 heads. Is there a demand for 906 heads or are people going to Aluminum heads instead of cast iron heads? Are 906 heads easy to sell and how much?

I had probably 40 or more oddball different year heads. Most people wanted the early 915's first, then 452, followed by 906 heads. I had a hard time at $10 each, one guy did buy about ten. Took a awhile to sell, still have a couple left. Most just bought a pair, or two.

ZERO....ZIPPO.....NADA

I just gave my last three sets away to a guy that bought a couple of 440's....he kind of looked at me and I told him it was part of the deal that he HAD to take the heads with him.

Done...Gone....Not Storing them ANYMORE

Sold a nice bare set on Monday for $200 but gave him the springs and valves, so there is still value in a known good set of castings. twocents

I can get these heads for free but don't want to if I'm going to be sitting on them and taking space in my garage.

Some people will tell you that they are worth $100 a pair but I had about 20 sets of cast iron heads a few years ago that I tried to sell with zero luck. The heads I had were all in excellent shape. They were all hot tanked, and checked for leaks or cracks. Basically ready to go cores. I advertised them for $100 a set and got zero action. I took them to swap meets and got zero action. Based on that experience I don't think cast iron heads are worth anything at all unless you can find some guy who just really, really wants a set.

I'm wondering if I should take them anyway. Maybe I can sell them, with a bunch of other cast iron stuff, to the Recycling Center. In the pile are, I believe, are 1971 exhaust manifolds. I'm going to the place next week to load up my truck with a bunch of stuff.

There are a few guys who may want date coded heads for restoration of cars that have been messed with over the years. If you don't mind handling all that iron pick them up. Post some pics with date codes and maybe try to help a guy out with his project for a decent price since you got them for free. If they dont sell in a reasonable time scrap them for your trouble. twocents

I have 8 383 blocks laying around, and no heads left now. I would take every set of 906's offered to me if they were in pick-up distance. They are definitely not worth shipping... penguinwalk

I could use the 69-70 heads but shipping is the killer. I have plenty but sometimes the wrong date. They are not worth much to most.

Yeah, when you want to find a good, usable set of heads just to make an engine complete and run.... good luck.

Sold a pair a couple years back for $100, but they were complete, off a '69 383 that got rebuilt just a few 100 miles before the car was totaled and parted out. Was selling something else and the guy saw them on the shelf and made me an offer. He was happy--was going on a low budget driver. I've seen bare, unchecked heads going for $25 apiece, but no idea if anyone's buying them. shruggy

last three sets of 915 were hard to sell. aluminum heads have killed them. even max wedge heads don t bring what they have past. 906 heads are worth keeping because of bigger demand and they aren t as plentiful. free is good also. I sold 33 sets 10 yrs ago to indy cylinder head and wished I hadn t for 9 yrs. keep em they ain t makin no more. jeff57
