If its really plug and play it is not completly and entirely out of line price wise, the picture shows alternator and everything to get it running to be installed and ready to bolt in and go. I may be wrong about it but you start adding up the cost of everything and their prophit margin is not too far out of line.

Add up the core cost of a 6.4L, a full rebuild, the nickle and dime stuff and THEN the electronics to get it to run properly in an older vehicle.

Arrow's pricing has gone up. I paid a little over $17k for my 426 all-aluminum engine almost 3 years ago. The base price for my engine was around $15k back then. I upgraded for Made in USA rods and head studs. I had my own EFI system and road racing oil pan. My pistons are Mahle & made in Germany and my crank is a Callies Compstar made in China as they had no other alternatives back then. I would venture a guess that the 392 & 426 crates have the current upgraded alloy aluminum block as well, but as for "forged internals" the crank and rods are probably all made in China. Probably comes with head bolts also. My engine runs great though! Bunch of track days on it and no problems whatsoever. 515rwhp & 540rwtq

I can crank out 600hp LS engines by the thousands for a hell of a lot less And have them last. Before anyone cries "LS", no one but the apologists are bringing up the smallblock.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Pittsburgracer loves pooping on the Gen III any chance he gets, I just like giving it back whenever he brings it up, only reason I brought up the SB. I’m glad you brought up he LS, so I can pint out my previous post on the similar costs. No apologists here, Gen III is an awesome engine, it is funny seeing the butthurt come out over every little thing lol

Clayton’s 426 Hemi Hellcat block= $1400 from Steve White Motors (NEW) Molnor 4.05 Crank =$ 930 +105 for ring (NEW) Hemitronix VVT delete $550 (NEW) Manley Rods 6.125 2-inch pin $650 (NEW) Howards Cams Camshafts 786965-13 +$370 (NEW) 6.1 Intake and fuel rails $650 (Used) Smith Bro Pushrods =$135 (NEW) Diamond Pistons & rings =$ 840 (4.09 Bore 13+ CC dome) (NEW) ARP Bolts, Head studs & mains $340+$160 (NEW) PAC Titanium retainers =$225 (NEW) PAC-1205X Valve Springs=$340 (NEW) Stock Eagle Heads with new Manley valves = $650 ((Used) Oil Pump Melling $165 (NEW) $6960.00 Lifters are not included, it’s not a” speed secret” but the ones being used are not conventual G3 hemi Lifters. If they work out, will tell you, if they don’t I don’t want other people trying this hair brain idea, and having their engine take a dump because some guy on the internet did it. Rocker arms are also not included they are stockers that came on the heads, but were cryro treated. Clayton Did his own head port work. Price does not include any machine work, or balancing, in my opinion machine work pricing can turn in to apples to oranges discussion. 2010 Challenger@ 4100 Lbs with driver 10.21@ 131Mph @ Ceil County Raceway. Kevin’s (Company I work for owner) 427 LS7 Drag motor. Dart LS Block 318372211=$2650.00 NEW SUMMIT PRC LS7X 285cc 400CFM 2.24I 1.65E $2900 NEW TEXAS PERFORMANCE Manley Platinum Series Piston 592300C-8 =$780 NEW Summit Carrillo Rods =$1700 SUMMIT( I wanted Manley) Callies Crank = $925 SUMMIT
$8955 ….and that’s not including cam, Lifters, Intake and all the other crap involved putting it back in the 2012 Camarwreck all this just to run 9.98 @ 3600 lbs
Take it for what it's worth, take it with a grain of salt, I don't care. Take it as a dig(dis) again I don't care,

Come-on now you gotta agree with me on that one.

Despite it being a cobbled together piece, I have somewhere north of $7500 in my 360, and it doesn't make anywhere close to 580 hp. I paid $0 for the block, maybe $100 for the heads, and I think I got the intake for $150. But, I'd estimate easily $7500 for the valve train, the rotating assembly, (I have probably $1500 into a cast 360 crank. Don't ask.), the cost of squaring, decking, and torque plating the block, 1 sleeve, plus carb, ignition, etc. Now, I saved a bunch by doing all my own assembly work. Proper hand assembly is pricey. If I was wanting to build a 550 hp 360, from scratch, ready to drop in the car, I would expect to be forking over at least $15-20K.
