Anyone know what is needed to convert a dually dana 70 to single rear wheel? It's in a 1990 W350 Cummins. I am swapping the drivetrain into my 85 w350 and I don't want a dually. I already have the front axle figured out. I have hubs from a front dana 60 srw. I was doing some research and some guys say the dually axle is shorter. In that case could I just run a wheel spacer?

dually is narrower, and you may not have room to relocate the spring perches

my ladder of success is missing some rungs

Depends on weather pickup dually or cab and chassis dually. More info on my lunch break but if cc axle just put single wheels on.

Ok, back to it...

Spring perches are the same for all pickups. SRW axle is the narrowest of all three, cab and chassis DRW axle is about 3_4" wider, pickup DRW axle is about 3-4" wider than that.

Like I said if you have a cc axle, I've run them srw the rear tires come out and fill the wheel well, looks ok to me.
All 8 lug are 8*6.5 though dually do use 5/8" studs vs 1/2" for most srw.

Dually rears are 2.5 inches wider per side. So 5 inch difference. Just find a set of single wheel hubs and use them. A cab and chassis rear end is the same width as the single wheel diffs if I remember right.

I thought axle shafts are different lengths between srw and drw

Need to know which dually axle you have.

Cc axle is wider than srw, just a couple inches though and nothing to fret about. Pickup dually is much wider than srw, the inner tires end up in the same place as srw tires.

Not sure about swapping hubs or shafts.
