I am thinking about throwing together an early well used stock short block 5.7 with ported eagle heads for some cheap fun. just curious as to how big of cam I can run without running into piston to valve clearance issues. I have heard conflicting info on this subject
and wondering if anyone has any real world experience with this on a stock 5.7. TIA.

My niece has a Comp cams XFI273h-14 .547/550 in her 06 300 , took a lot of tuning to get to run right. been a few years and it hasn't bent any valves yet.
