ATF in mine. Now my Borg box leaked like a sieve the moment I started the engine, but was due to a pinhole in a weld. A few strikes with a punch fixed that.
Ok, there's one Borg box with ATF in it that's lived. Good news!

Either way is fine, but synthetic PS fluid is best. If you have a hydroboost, atf is poison. Why is ATF poison to Hydroboost setups? Dodge diesel 4x4 trucks use ATF+4 in their power steering systems.

Either way is fine, but synthetic PS fluid is best. If you have a hydroboost, atf is poison. The bus yard I work @ has 30 small busses- Fords and GMs over a span of 30 model years, they all have Hydroboost and all use ATF- factory fill.
