Kind of disappointed. That little brace behind the splash shield had a rust hole. The splash shield had a previous patch. Figured I may as well put a new one in. Now I'm wondering if I should just patch my original.

They are advertised as E body units. maybe they have thinner ones then a B body?

Converting to inches it looks like the original was 16 gauge and the replacement is 18 gauge. I'm not sure I'd worry about it. But if you can acceptably patch the original, that would still be the best option IMHO.

My butt welding skills are not super awesome so it would have been really hard to do on the car, off the car a patch would probably be simple.

My biggest worry is I am going to get their torsion crossmember and I really hope its the right gauge.

Ask them. Best substitute for having the part in front of you.

I asked and just got "Yes, they should be close to factory gauge." But he said he did not know what factory gauge was.

I ordered one anyway. I'll see when it gets here. I'm gonna have to mod it anyway since its going on a b body. (they make the ones for E's ub I'm told will fit B's with a slight mod around the parking brake area.)
