Have a friend with a rigged-up fuel cell in his '66 Fury that is likely leaking from some connection point. (I have not been under the car myself yet, not certain what the issue is, going by what he described to me) Regardless, It's not a race car so he'd like to replace the cell with an OE type tank and lines.

Unfortunately, we are having a hard time locating a reproduction tank and good used ones don't seem to come up at all.

It's my understanding that 65 AND 66 Fury gas tanks are each one-year-only parts. Is this correct?

Can someone point me in thee right direction for getting a tank in this thing without spending a fortune on a custom one?

Thanks,

- Greg

NO repops for the tanks yet (65 or 66) Basically the same tank, 65 is side fill, 66 is rear. Vans is going to reproduce the 65 version and is due out next Spring, I would expect them to make a rear or side fill version of that tank. With some mods, a rear fill B-Body tank can work.

Some guys on the FCBO board have used the 67 C-body tank from Spectra successfully on 65 and 66 rear fill cars.

Some have had to trim the lip on the tank a little and others with the same car just bolt in. shruggy

Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like there are options at least.

If you use one of these alternate tanks, which tank straps would you use?

I also imagine finding a filler neck for this thing will be just as tough.
