Has anyone put a rear facing car seat in an e-body? [Cuda specifically].

The one I have isn't remotely close to fitting with the front passenger seat latched back. yellow

Only place I could fit mine was in the center back seat with it fitting between the front two seats.

That would be my suggestion. Does your car have belts in the center? I would think the seat would fit there. The base shouldn't need a shoulder strap.

When the little one gets bigger and needs a front facing seat, did you add reinforcements in the package tray to attach a top anchor?

We have a Peg Perego Convertible and when we strap it in tight, we can latch the front seat in place. It does have to slide way far forward though, which is a pain, but its nice when we can all cruise together. I replaced the rear seat belts with 72" belts from Summit and they are very versatile.

Thanks all, we're going to head to the baby store to test fit some seats!

I remember it was a pain in my 70 Cuda for the rear facing seat. I also ran my son in the middle of the rear seat, if I remember correctly both seats were up quite a bit as well.

I think I'm gonna have to wait to give mine a ride until they're big enough to sit in the front seat...due to the rollcage.

My mom drove a '72 Nova when my sister an I were little. I remember sliding around in the huge back seat - without belts. We loved it.

How the heck did we all survive?!

I was born in 78. My car seat was just 1" metal tubing with very thin padding in a few spots. Now they say kids should be in a special seat in the back until they are at least 12. shock

12?? I know some pretty big 12 yr olds they'd look like baby Huey back there in one of those...If I was a kid I'd get annoyed fast not being able to see mom, dad, or the road ahead...And I guess no side view in an ebody either...Yep I'd be screaming and throwing stuff in no time..

But I guess it's not the old days where I'd do a flip from the front seat into the backseat of the stationwagon while cruising down the highway..Although I do remember miscalculating and landing on my head on the rear floor one time... wink Anyhow hand the kid an icecream and you'll see what I mean...

I agree. I was born in 1980 and never sat in any kind of baby car seat. Most of the time I was sitting on the fold down buddy seat that was on the front bench of my parents' station wagon, lol.
I think by law a child 13 years old or younger is supposed to always be in the back seat. The it goes by age and size as to what type of child seat they need to be in. This varies by state obviously.
I was 6'2" and 220 lbs when I was 13, lol.

I was born in 58, road in the back window of the Buick after the last wagon. Road in the back of a 61 Falcon wagon from Iowa to Wyoming with the rear seat folded down and the back loaded level to the Windows. There was a time on the trip that the rear window was down and I tossed something of my sister's out the window.
Around town we would sit up front and get the arm across the chest to keep us in place for a quick stop.lol
Ah the good old days!

Have a great day

They don't have to face rearward until they are 12. There is a whole progression of seating now, starting with newborns that face rearward, then moving to forward facing, multi-point seat, and evolving into more upright and less strapped in booster type seating as the kids grow.

I never took my kids in the Challenger when they had the rear facing seats. With three of them only two years apart, there is no way it would have worked. However, once they moved to forward facing, I did get three of them across the back seat. It was wall to wall car seat and buckling them up was a chore.

Yes, laws vary by state for specific requirements but most do have a factor of age AND weight requirements that must be met before moving to the next seating arrangement.

Yes, it is a wonder we survived, but we also didn't share the road with tens of thousands of other distracted drivers playing games on a phone at the same time they were driving.
