I’m restoring an A12 Road Runner and would like to know if it would be OK to use a 1968 B Body AM – FM radio in my car. Is there any difference? Does the complete face look the same, install and hook up the same as a 69. If someone could enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

What 68 B body had an AM/FM? I thought you could get nothing, AM or AM/8 track in 68

for '68 the b-body AM/FM was an accessory catalog item - not factory installed

"CHRYSLER SOLID STATE" text on the '69 factory installed version scope

Charger ONLY also had a high-powered 5-1/2 watt OPTIONAL AM radio boogie

It will fit in your car. However the AM/FM requires special wiring and a control box. Wiring also depends on if you have 3 speaker dash and either 1 or 2 rear speakers.

AM/FM for a '68-'70 b-body was MONO (not stereo) & requires no different wiring than the AM radio - wiring & connections should all be the same

1 front speaker included with radio
1 rear speaker available OPTIONAL

Actually Dan, the one pic you posted above as the '68 is actually the Dart AM FM (notice the "fat" bezel and chrome push buttons)

THIS is the correct 1968 B body AM FM . with pentastar ....

The 1969 B body AM FM is 2884632 .
Both radios were manufactured by Bendix .

blush I knew the pentastar should've been there, but I had that pictured saved with the caption - I'll have to fix it wrench
