I know these are beat to death, but does anyone know max tire size front and rear for a 69 Roadrunner? We are looking to go with 17" wheels, would like a starting point for max tire size that would fit in stock openings.Any backspacing info would be helpful as well. I know I will have to verify, but would be grateful for any first hand experience. Thanks.

WOW, not 1 comment. I had to check my settings to see if I was blocking comments, Ha. Anyway, for anyone else in same boat, I fit a MT Street R 305/45R17 on a 17x9 with 5.47 backspace. Perfect fit

You might check the archives and see what info is there. I have no experience with 17s on that body, but 265/50 fronts & 295/50 rears on 15x8s with 4.5BS fit my '68 RR with plenty of room to spare at stock height. A 10x15 rear wheel needs 5.5BS. I've seen 305/50R15s on the back of a '69 RR that still had some room, but can't recall if the guy had 9" or 10" wheels.

I've got 295/55/15 tires on the back of my '68. They'll rub a little if I take a corner too fast. be careful to measure the backspacing carefully (offhand, I don't remember what it was on my Road Runner).
