I am wondering what peoples opinions are with these 2 pumps. I am leaning towards the magnaflow 4303

i have a 440 with bds 871 blower that im upgrading to FiTech 2x4 1000hp EFI setup. and need to replace fuel pump and regulator.

thanks

I ran an automotive A1000 on a prior build and we used many of them on cars at the speed shop I used to work for. They are solid pumps. I have never seen one fail personally. there are a lot of stories out there of A1000's having issues on the street but most of the time it appears to be with people who undersize their fuel/return system. DON'T go by the automotive power planner as this is only a recommendation for a drag car, not a street car that sees long time continuous use (that is from the mouth of an automotive tech). Use a BIG return line, 8 or 10AN. I ran my A1000 with the variable voltage control box but I have heard guys using them on the street without and no issues

I recently switched to a 4303 because the A1000 wouldn't be able to keep up with my demands on E85. The 4303 is a MUCH higher flower pump, closer to an Aeromotive Eliminator than an A1000. I spoke to a handful of shops and vendors that use the pump on street cars and I have never heard of one problem. Magnafuel's tech told me the only time he has ever heard of a 4303 burning itself up was on street driven setups where guys were running the fuel level down very low causing the little bit of fuel left in the cell to be cycled constantly without a chance to dissipate heat. You are not supposed to run any kind of voltage controller with the 4303, in fact magnafuel warns not to. I have heard of guys using these on daily drivers with no issues.

I have always thought A1000's were solid pumps, but from the research I have done it seems like the 4303/pro tuner 750 is a better pump all around. Much higher flowing and reliable on the street. If you are looking for 1000hp, I would definitely go with the 4303 as you'll be pushing the limits of the A1000 with fuel injection/forced induction.
