Trucks a 81 shorty, d150, built small block. I noticed when trying to "warm" the tires I get some serious wheel hop. I'm running 3 leafs with the very bottom removed so yes the suspension is soft.. Was thinking maybe if I add that bottom leaf back I would loose the problem?? Or if I did slapped bars?? I noticed I see slapped bars for spring under axle an not for spring over axle??

I had the same issue with my 83 shortbed. I don't believe adding that bottom leaf back on is going to help out any at all. I went with this 3/4 ton spring from ATS Springs. It rides firm, but not harsh.

Would putting the thick bottom leaf back on, but reversed, so the long portion is to the front help? Did that with my gmc, but still not running. Would almost be like a slapper, especially if one could put a bumper on the front segment.

Kicker shocks were once available from Direct Connection for those trucks. Rancho was the supplier, I'm sure they can set you up.

SRT-10's used them too..... scope ......I just learned this. work
