Hmm...no idea about the rattler but I've used this Summit/Coyco (part # 64277) elastometer damper with great success...meaning, it's held up very well, no movement on the band and just plain simply well build piece.

Strange enough, Summit no longer shows this part, although I did not go looking for the damper itself, so maybe just a part number change?

Thanks...good to know! I liked that piece so much I had previously scored a near mint one off of eBag for a great price...so no need to buy a new one, but glad to have the new part#.

BHJ makes a good one for a good price. Make sure you clear it as the polished finish doesn't last long.

Just this post on vibration dampers, wondering if there is a good aftermarket one for 67 gtx factory 426 hemi that will allow your original pulley to work for a car with power steering?

Vibration dampers wear out with age as the rubber hardens and cracks. Old factory units can be rebuilt better than new with a lifetime warranty.

"(Harmonic balancers are) tuned to vibrate at a certain ideal frequency when new" to dampen crankshaft twisting caused by power strokes. For more on why the correct one for your crankshaft is important, see here.

Pricing is here.

Get a Romac. They come in SFI and non-SFI variants, have a nice outer ring that is stamped all around with timing increments, and won't affect your drive pulley offset. Quality parts and no gimmicks.

I like the Jeg's house balancer that is made for them by Pioneer. It's SFI rated and is a quality piece.
