I'm looking for a replacement power steering pressure line/hose for a 1968 charger R/T with a/c (if that matters). It seems there are a few different P.S pumps for this year. I can't seem to find a re-pop of this style of hose. Any help would be appreciated.

Find a place that will make new hoses using your end fittings.

That is a federal pump if that helps.

Lots of NOS ones around but you won't like the price. Check e-bay with P/N 2537981

Dogdays - I took it down to a hyd. shop and the tech looked at it and said that it has an internal flow restrictor in the large OD hose (news to me) and that i'd have to get direct from manufacturer. I thought that sounded weird but figured i'd but do some more research before I take the next step.

Does it really need those funky curves? I would go to a hydraulic shop and get a nice one made.

So I went to the Autoparts Reference Library (Rockauto) and found that there are brand new hoses available for less than you would have paid to get your hose rebuilt. I hope you can use one of those.
$21 at Autozone.

I had the same problem restoring my 1968 Charger. I used a reproduction hose with all the wrong bends. I have thought since of sending my hose to Classic Auto Air in Tampa, Fla. They did my AC lines. They reused the original hose ends and replated them, then soldered on new crimp sleeves to hold the new rubber. I don't see why they couldn't do the same for a power steering hose. AC systems are under the same high pressure as a power steering system. Give them a call and see what they say.

I just went thru this exact scenario last week.
The ONLY place I could find a line for a 1968 was Rockauto..... At almost $200

I got one locally for a 1969 Charger, and all I had to do was change the male fitting in the gear box. Best of all, it was less than $40 ( the flare fitting is larger on a 1969 and up. The threaded port in the box was the same.

edit, added pics

Thanks for the replies. I would prefer something that looks OE, but that appears to not exist...execpt for NOS $$$. I do see both Rockauto and Napa have two hoses available, one is $20 the other is $170. Both look nothing like the original.
