My "spare parts" 318 is on the road....finally! It's a 1990 roller motor with a whiplash 318 cam,summit house brand intake,Msd dist. And 6a box,e coil,8.5 wires.Hedman long tubes with purple hornie header mufflers for now🙄,727 tranny with a Summit 11" converter,770 Holley street avenger carb,3:55 gears. It's more fun and a lot less maintenance than any other engine I've ever had!

And all (or most) of that you had laying around collecting dust? Awesome!

I did have to buy the cam!

got my initial set at 14* FBO limiter plate set on 18* total 32* and curb idle set 700 rpm

what kind of timing and curb idle you wind up with?

I was thinking of advancing it on the t-chain when it goes in the next 88 police 318 next.

but then again another 5.9 whiplash would be more simple to slam and jam.

I'm running an Msd pro billet dizzy with no vac advance. I put the bushings in it to run 14 initial and 34 total. Seems to like it!
