I looked for a couple hours a couple months ago on google
moparts , etc to get some ideas on
how to install ezefi . Didnt know where to drill
holes, where to mount ecu, or how i should plumb
lines . With anticipation of keeping things looking Stockish.
The thought of a fuel regulator on my firewall made me want to
puke.
Hopefully my ref pics help someone .
This might be the best mod ive ever done.
It is not a weekend job for most .. at least not like I
installed it .
I started the engine last night .
Cold start , warmed it up , and purred at 600 rpm.
if it ever stops raining , maybe ill test drive this week.

Wife always complains that the car stinks,,
She can never get it to start when hot ( i never had a problem ) .
I never installed my return line , crappy gas
I never maintain this driver like it deserves , But finally heres a great improvement for it.
It idled in the shop for 20 mins with minimal ventilation.
When i came into the house , i usually get the you stink
comment , i had to ask her if my clothes smelled.
Just a little. SO im off to a good start .

Pulled the tank and ordered a Tanks inc fuel injection
ready tank . Its real nice . Painted or anodized aluminum
color , i was impressed.

Installing the pump and float could be a little challenging.
my buddy from a local resto shop has a hundred of them
under his belt , he dialed them in for me. He specified
black permagasket sealant along with the cork and
rubber ..

Bought two 3/8 lines from fine lines and stacked them
Installed fuel filter alongside torsion bar support
There is already a stamped opening behind hole
i cut in the right side line.

I purchased six feet of hydraulic line insulator and installed before
I flared the lines to run along the front frame rail, i shoulda bought 7
I used a stainless braided 6an line for the hi pressure
and used the rubber provided with the kit for the return line.
I routed the lines from the frame rail between the alternator and dizzy
like factory route.,it doesnt stick out after the air cleaner installed.
I purchased a couple 45 barbed an fitts and a couple straights
and used the kit rubber hose for the gas tank connections.

There was a couple knockouts in the hump behind the rear seat
I used a couple washers for the 5/16" gas tank vent. I used a brass barbed 90
To make sure id be clear of the exhaust

The 4 pin weatherproof connector saved me a lotta grief for not having to
solder wires under the car .
After i raised the tank into place it was a 5 minute deal to
Connect , well kind of ...
i soldered a brass 6/32 screw onto send unit wire to fit onto
original harness for fuel level wire.
I rtvd silicones the connection . Should be good for a while

To clear the exhaust with vent tube - i stuck 3" of 1/4" copper tubing into 5/16 rubber fuel line and bent a parfect 90.

It took a week for me to decide where to put the controls
before i drilled a large hole in firewall. Behind the AC box fit perfect.
The Control box fits perfectly in the passenger pillar and the kick panel
hides it all .

I rewound the harness with harness non stick tape.
I separated the black and red for direct battery connection.
You can barely tell there's extra wires in the compartment.

The FAST water temp sensor would not fit in any spare threaded opening.
It took a while to find this new neck .
Cut and tapped a threaded opening in 1/4"

The flash really makes things look dirty in the engine compartment and all this AC stuff always gets in the way .

Since i didnt want to mount the fuel p regulator on the
firewall , everything i googled for ideas showed the ideal
location is as close to carbs as possible .
How is this for close ..

The hi pressure from pump goes directly into the fast throttle
body fuel log . Then its regulated on the return .
I had to rotate the diaphragm on top of the regulator
to get the vacuum nipple pointing up . 4 Allen screws , its easy.

Connection of the supply and return is somehow crammed
in under the coil and connected to the regulator And supply log
On Throttle body. I didnt think it mattered which log I connected to
its a loop .

After tidying things up under car , i connected
The 02 sensor to sheetmetal under car.
Car ran like crap and had 3 hrs of diagnosing
and a plug change .
Factory 6 pin harness wasnt mating to 02 sensor
Im hoping the rest of the harness has integrity .
Lot of other troubleshooting horror stories on the net ..
so probably good practice to watch the crimps and
connections on the harnesses.

Well, all i could think of was vapor lock and pulling
tank into vacuum.
I mounted vent in trunk thinking it would just suck air.
Im a moron , i forgot that it allows vapors to escape too
especially when filling tank .
My idea of routing into trunk might not work .
But have ideas .

To be continued .

I put 20 miles on car over weekend, great cruising
I bet i gained 20 horse by the way it launches and
when i kickdown . So far so good ,
Except for the smell from the trunk ... frown

Well , ive logged about 150 miles between rain
So far , so good .
One of my buddies spotted a problem with a vacuum port cap
So it needs to relearn all over .
Its a decent smooth idle . Occasionally ramps up/down
The A/f 's are pretty smooth,
Cruises significantly well .
The car is NOT cold blooded anymore ,
But likes 190 degrees ,but im seeing 200 degrees a lot
Not sure if too lean , or ?
So far I would reccomend to most people .
