Might be a silly question but do you have any idea how much taller it is at the carb base then a LA with a Indy 360-1 intake? Can a person mill the carb base down an 1" or 2"? ...
Probably no more that a foot or two taller. I can't imagine using that tall of an intake on any car of mine, forced induction is a much better way to go. Best overall package would be a bolt-on supercharger. You might need a custom intake manifold to feed it with a Procharger and not be unnecessarily tall. Can you feed a factory intake with a Procharger?

Maybe bolt a flat plate over the carb pad and bore a hole in the side/sides to feed air from the super/turbo charger.
I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!
