Depends on where the car was made. California cars in 70 came with ECS, which is a gasoline evaporation capture system, and they require a unique fill tube and gas cap. The other non CA cars would have a vented cap and matching fill tube. Easy way to tell is if your car has an extra tube poking up in the trunk floor. http://www.allpar.com/fix/fuel/evaporation-control.html
