I've been reading that the left side C body exhaust manifold will work on a big block A body. If true, how close is the match?
Thanks

No actual exp to share but I think it will fit even with the outlet turned 90 deg on those. www.bigblockdart.com would highly likely have the final word on that.

I built a 70 Duster with a 440/auto years back. I used b-body hp manifolds. The only thing I did to make them fit was to shorten the steering column tube about 2 inches to clear the outlet. I used Schumacher mounts and everything fit nice and tidy.

The C-Body manifold was used when AAR was making the nice A-Body style manifold, too bad they quit making them. frown The problem is where the exhaust pipe bolts to the manifold, not too much room. B-Body manifolds will work, depends on which steering column you have, usually grinding on the manifold and steering column is required, or you can buy an A-Body set from me for big bucks! biggrin

I tinkered with it for awhile before finding the correct set for my m-code 440. It was tight so I started taper grinding the face at the lower edge, took off about 1/8-3/16s to nothing at top, cleared steering fine then. One good face cut on a head grinder will clean it up to make a smooth fit. IMO about the same restriction as the original.

It should work, from the top it will look like the stock A Body manifold , the head pipe connection though does not line up with the stock head pipe , for that you will have to have a pipe creatively bent and welded up.

Cudaman1969 brings up a good point, what engine are you using??? 440 ignore what I posted as the engine is wider, I test fit the drivers side C body manifold on a 383.

If you angle cut the C body manifold even on a 383 that would help a little with the bend that is needed on the outlet flange.

running up my post count some more .

Do you have the manifold or are you looking for one ? It should work on a low deck.

I found a C body HP (pic) on ebay and it's on it's way. I'm planning on using a B body HP manifold for the right side. I have a friend that has one and told me he'd sell it to me cheap.
