I was trying to add another pin in the main
plug harness yesterday.. but I couldnt get the
plug to release.. I called Rick(Trendz) to see
if I was doing something wrong and I talked to
Holley(on the web)and no one knows why it wont
release... since I cant release it and I managed
to break another wire during this process I'm
just gonna cut the plug off and order a new plug
with the pins.. I dont care about the price but
I do care about the time loss.. its just one thing
after another..such a simple job turns into a big
pile of worms cry... I hate playing with small wires

I'm with you on that. It should be easy then turns into a huge hassle. Sorry it turn out that way.

Mr P. You pointed me to using cheater lenses while welding. That really was a big plus. Try the same thing for those little connectors. It will give you a better viewpoint of the terminal release. A torch tip cleaner tool has lots of small diameter tips that I use to release the locks. I used to build Gen3 harnesses for a 2 step launch control. Yes, all of those little pins are a pain. Sometimes I use the tool that Harbor Freight sells that has 2 alligator clips and a magnifying glass for soldering tiny components together, also.

For some reason it wont release.. I'm guessing
that I didnt have 1 pin pushed it all the way
when I locked it.. the release tab is big enough
to use a medium size flat blade screwdriver to
release it.. but it wont.. I'll order the part
tomorrow and WAIT.. I should be able to put the
plug on with the 20 pins in a few hours... and
yes I will buy a pair of 3.0 glasses and add more
light in there

The biggest problem is that I'm working inside
the car.. black carpet and not a lot of room
to swing the door open all the way.. If I didnt
have it on the hoist I would have pushed it
forward to clear the door.. it is what it is..
I have one of those lights but its over my welding
bench where I do most of my work

As usual.. my new plug for the injection doesnt
fit.. I bought the full kit to replace the one
plug(there are 4 plugs in the kit with all the
pins).. 3 of the plugs in the kit are 26 pin
plugs.. each has a different locator so you cant
plug in the wrong one.. on my original plug it
has 2 locators on one side and a single locator
on the other side(in the center).. of the 3 that
came in the kit(all 26 pin ones) NONE have the
correct locators.. so I will call Holley AGAIN
and see what the deal in.. then WAIT more.. I'm
getting really PISSED OFF mad .. and to wait
for a tech is no simple job.. can be a hour or
more on the phone.. and listening to that damn
music

sorry to hear Mike. If it were me at this point I would file the tab or tabs off and plug it in.

Way too late for that.. about $2500 to late
EDIT
I expected this to be fairly simple to change over
but its a pile of worms with little crap.. now that
Holley says they dont sell that plug I have to go
to the manufacturer for the plug and pins.. and the
manufacturer only sells the pins in lots of 100 or
more.. so I have to buy a 100.. its all the nickle
and dime crap that SUCKS and the WAITING... maybe
by next year I'll get this piece of crap running

Look on eBay for the connectors. I have had good luck there buying connectors and stuff.

I am starting to be glad that I had to terminate my own harness. It was a little nerve racking starting out with 12' of unterminated harness but i feel it worked out better in the end. I had to source any connector I used therefore I know where to get it all. It didn't feel worth it at the time but Mike is helping that lol.
