Just picked up a 94 2500 5.9 auto, reg cab, long box 2wd in a package deal. I've always liked the Cummins trucks but never owned one. Well, I can see why guys love them, it's just an experience driving them. This ones stock but still pulls nice, but that sound! It's infecting! Only issue was very soft shifting when cold, better hot but not great. Turns out it was 5 quarts low on tranny fluid, works well now. Seem really easy to turn up as well! For basically no money you can add 100 hp with stock parts. Sadly I won't be keeping it as I need 4wd and an extended cab so I won't be bombing it out, but I'm giving myself hives having to fight off the temptation. Very neat trucks

They are nice trucks. I believe I have driven all generations of Cummins powered Dodge light trucks. They are all nice in their own way. Your 12 v year included/especially.

The newer ones are nice also. I made a 625 mile drive today in a 2017 D4500 with trailer at about 25k# gross. Easy drive, even with rain, and nice truck. I think (hope!) Dodge/Cummins has the bugs out of the aftertreatment setup. The 6.7 with Aisan (sp) transmission and 4.10 rear works very well at this weight.

I have had several 12 valves and 24 valve Cummins. My current 92 is an awesome truck.

Some guys like small blocks, some guys like big blocks, I'm a diesel guy myself.

I like driving them, I just don't like fixing them!

I don't mind working on them. You would think there would be plenty of room but there really isn't. I keep mine clean, has no oil or fuel leaks so that makes it not so bad.

Once you start messing with them you can't stop. So easy to make power and still be reliable!
