I know I'm beating a dead horse, but can't find the answer in the search.
Have any of you guys used the D452 Dougs headers for a B-body on your truck?
I'm wondering how they fit. I know the TTI A-body ones fit but don't want to spend $900 on headers. Some guy at the Portland swap meet told me the Patriot brand headers are the same as Dougs...I find that hard to believe. Since the price difference is substantial between them.

Its a lowered truck, so they need to tuck up pretty tight to the floor board. I have a set of new Hedman Elites for the trucks on there now and they hang down too low. Do the Hooker super comps tuck up tight?

I run the hedman 79250 truck header. even run my plug wires behind the tubes with wire routing same as center dump manifolds. they do not hang below frame rail and I run 3" pipes/muffs

ball/cone collectors, tucks up tight, good fit in chassis, easy install, R&R mini starter header in place.

IIRC, same as the Bouchillon BB truck swap headers.

Passenger side is above the bottom of the frame rail. Drivers side is about 7" below floor board, it hangs below frame rail. I assume this is for r&r of starter.

Not exactly top shelf but the Flowtech headers from Summit are doing the job for us: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/big-13504flt

With 25.75" from ground to middle of front fender lip I measure 5" of ground clearance at the lowest point on the driver side. Passenger side is not below the frame rail. Fit, installation, and clearances are fine. Using Remflex gaskets.

Patriot and Doug's are both owned by Pertronix. They are not necessarily the same product.

Here's a couple side shots of the A-body TTI's.

here's my hedmans with 3" pipes/muffs.

the cast deep trans pan is the lowest thing under there with the collector bolts a hair above the bottom of pan.

well they are kind of dark but you can see both sides tuck up in the chassis with collectors about center of pan rail.

the deep pan or the fluid drip off the drain plug is the lowest point under the truck.

firecore wires/90* plug boots behind the header tubes with heat socks. don't really need the socks

so does the 79250 set tuck the collector up in the chassis the highest?

where does the collector sit on the A-body TTI set?

I used Dougs B body headers on my 87. RB w/SRs. Had to do a little frame trimming beyond the trimming I did for the 2" CPPA/TTIs I used before. Areas that were trimmed I boxed/platted for strength. Probably wasn't needed but did it anyway since it was easy to get to with the motor out. My truck is lowered with Chisholm 2" control arms and weak springs lol, never had an issue with them hanging too low even with our major drops from the blacktop to a gravel shoulder.

Hedman 79220 - My engine support brackets are home made and the 3" collectors are now 3.5"

The front sits allmost on bump stops and they are low, but the biggest problem is, that they sit below transmission pan, so fitting a deep pan is a problem. Not sure, maybe with 3" collectors, there's no problem, but it will be close.
I do not use stock starter, I think it would not fit with these headers but not 100% sure.
Kind of a pain, not enough room between engine and frame.
Next ones, I probably make them so the collector is outside the frame rails. Everything is lot easier this way.
