When someone asks what lobes does the cam have, what exactly are they asking? My cam is a comp chs 296ar6 , dosent say anything about lobe type on cam card ,just lobe lift .4210 and power band 5500 to 7500 in 360cid with the opening & closing timing @.050 , went to comps web site and for lobe it said hi tech? I guess thats better than low tech but doesent mean much to me.

All of Comp Cams have lobe numbers, the lobe numbers are in some of the older Comp Cams catalogs in the back. The Hi Tech roller lobes are a type of lobe in thier catalog. The numbers at the top of the cam card usually identify the grind number and the lobe numbers like CR3 4131B/4020B R 108.0. Look your ups and post it on this post and i will be glad to dig out one of my old Comp catalogs and furnish the lobe specs for you.

I looked in both of my Comp Catalogs and that part number is not a shelf grind, try E mailing Comp with that part number and ask them for the cam specs and lobe numbers Let us know what you find out

Hey vic , pretty cool , you were the one that asked me the lobe question, its a little less agressive than some of the newer rollers ,

You could use a cam with snappier lobes, especially with a 1.5 rocker arm.
